I was wondering with all these file hosting sites, how they would stack up against each other. So I decided to run this File Hosting Sites Speed Test. I am currently testing different file hosting sites and I have them in a table here. I’m testing for upload and download speed. Although as of October 6th 2025, I’ve only tested upload speeds.
File Hosting Speed Test Rules
- Each file hosting site will be tested with the same file, one site at a time.
- I will be using the remote upload feature
- Uploading from my torbox.app seedbox.
- I record the highest speed achieved and maintained for each site. (So if a site is uploading at 30 mbps, and there is a spike up to 50 mbps, but it goes back down to 51 mbps, the test result would be 51 mbps.
- All uploads were done as a “registered” or “free” account.
Getting a 100% fair test would be difficult. I’m trying to keep as many of the variables constant that I can. It’s impossible to get a fair test because server location, load, etc all affects the speeds achieved.
I just thought it would be interesting to see how they did.
